Certification Calendar

Fees

  • Oral Proficiency Interviews: $65 per language.
  • Written Exam: $125.00
  • Orientation: All Languages $225.00
  • Oral Exam: Certification-certified languages candidates only $225.00-$600 (language dependent)

  • The Supreme Court of Virginia will NOT reimburse your travel, parking, meal or lodging expenses.

Refund Policy 

**NEW: Candidate Registration Portal (Not for Currently Certified Interpreters)

All interpreter candidates pursuing qualification or certification must create a profile in the Foreign Language Services (FLS) Registration Portal in order to register for any certification or qualification event. 

  • Once a profile has been created, candidates must email [email protected] to request that their profile be updated to reflect the certification or qualification elements for which they are eligible.
  • The portal restricts registration to only those events for which a candidate is eligible.
  • Failure to complete this step will prevent registration and may result in missed registration opportunities due to processing delays.
  • This profile will be used for all future registrations within the certification program.
  • Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Complete Step 2: Oral Proficiency Interview 
Open year-round. Detailed registration instructions will be provided in Step 1 of the process. 

Register for Step 3: Written Exam
